What we do
These protections are built into Pot Dating:
- ID verification: an optional check of a government ID, which adds a blue tick badge to your profile.
- Video verification: an optional live video check with a moderator, with no documents needed.
- Age assurance: you must be 18 or over to join. Sign-ups with a date of birth under 18 are blocked, and automated age estimation, with further checks where they're required, helps keep underage users out.
- Profile validation: our team can review and approve your profile for a validation badge, with no sensitive documents involved.
- Moderation: images, videos and text are screened as they're uploaded, using automated checks and human review, and automated monitoring looks out for suspicious activity such as scammers and bots.
- Blocking and reporting: block anyone instantly, and report users or content from within the site.
- Privacy: your real name and email are never shown publicly, your location appears only as your nearest town or city, and potentially explicit images are blurred with a warning before viewing.
- Support: a real support team is available 24/7 by chat, phone and messaging.
Keep your profile safe
- Don't put your surname, address, workplace or phone number on your profile.
- Use photos that don't show your street, house number or car registration.
- If you grow at home, think twice before sharing photos that show where you live or the size of your setup.
- Use a username you don't use on other sites.

Spotting scams
Most people are exactly who they say they are. A few aren't. Be wary of anyone who:
- asks for money, gift cards or cryptocurrency, for any reason;
- offers to sell or deliver cannabis or anything else;
- wants to move the chat to another app straight away;
- refuses a quick video call but is keen to meet or to talk about money;
- has a story that keeps changing.
If something feels off, stop replying and report the profile. You can report a user or their content with the report button from within the site, or contact support by phone or live chat at any time. Complaints are resolved within 5 business days, and content confirmed as harmful or illegal is removed straight away. We'll also warn you if someone tries to move the conversation to another app, a common scam tactic.
Before you meet
Have a video call first. It's the easiest way to check someone is who they say they are. Tell a friend who you're meeting, where and when, and arrange to check in afterwards. Make your own way there and back, so you can leave when you choose.
On the date
Meet in a busy public place. Keep a clear head on a first date: hold off on cannabis or alcohol until you know and trust the person, so you can both make good decisions. Keep an eye on your food and drinks, and never accept edibles or anything else from someone you've just met. Remember that consent can be withdrawn at any time, and that someone who is impaired can't give it.
Sharing photos and personal details
Take your time before sharing your phone number, social media or anything that shows where you live or work. Think carefully before sending private photos, because once they've been sent you can't control where they go. Never share photos or videos that show you using cannabis somewhere it's illegal, or that show other people without their consent.
Getting home safely
Plan how you'll get home before you go out, and keep some money and phone battery spare. If you've used cannabis or had a drink, don't drive: take public transport, a taxi or a ride from a friend. If a date wants to move on to somewhere private, it's fine to say no, or to say "another time". Someone who's worth seeing again will respect that.
Know the law where you meet
Cannabis laws are very different between countries, and often between states, provinces and cities too. Something legal where you live may be illegal a short drive away. Check the rules for the place you're meeting, never use cannabis in public where it's not allowed, never drive after using it and never take it across a border. This page is general advice, not legal advice.
If something goes wrong
If you're in danger, call your local emergency number straight away. If someone makes you uncomfortable, you can block and report them. Our support team is available 24/7, and you can reach them from the members area.
Questions people ask
How can I tell someone is genuine?
Look for a complete profile, ask for a quick video call and take your time. Members can choose to verify with ID (a blue tick), a video check or profile validation, and each member has a reputation score based on behaviour and feedback. Verification is optional, so not every profile has a badge.
Can I report someone for offering to sell cannabis?
Yes, please do. Pot Dating is for meeting people, never for buying or selling. Use the report button from within the site, or contact our support team 24/7 by phone or live chat.
Should I use cannabis on a first date?
We'd suggest not on a first meeting. A clear head helps you both judge how it's going and get home safely.
Is it legal to use cannabis where I live?
That depends on where you are, and the rules change. Check official local sources. We can't give legal advice.
Is Pot Dating only for adults?
Yes. You must be 18 or over to join, and age checks help keep underage users off the site.
